As big a fan I am of Mayweather....I agree with Obama/Sal...There is no reason Mayweather should have let Margarito steal thunder with his win vs Cotto...or let Mosley steal his thunder with his win over Margarito...You have guys like Mosley and Hopkins still fighting at their ages..Mayweather between 7-13 years their jr and is looking to retire without having been beat down

Hard to believe he's fighting for legacy
Why is there a tourney title?
17 Time Boxing Champ

Made it to the HOF, then kicked out for padding.
Tyrant vs Sugarray = 116 fights
Tyrant vs Labratory = 77 fights
Larry Holmes vs Labratory = 188
Mike Tyson vs Labratory = 82
I want you! I want the stallion!

Just scoping the scene to see who I might try to dethrone first.

Yup, there were a lot of actual game play changes beyond graphics. Stamina, moving while ducking (crawling), big left hook, distance, even round time went through a bit of a stint.

When I speak of era though, I am not even talking about the game change. I am speaking of the players/fighters.

Larry fought atop when Labratory was ruling and showing us the chicken dance, when Sal was ruling, when Ashton/Streetbully, Greg H were toughing it up, when Mike Tyson was hot, when Tyrant's gay style and pointing down to his opponents surfaced, when the great MAB went on a run, when Jermain Taylor and Vargas showed great HOF potential before up and leaving, when HTF became great, when Fatny broke into greatness

Hah, Larry was around when there wasn't even a chat feature or forums.
I started with "Tyrant" 7-28 (4KOs)

Then switched to "Tyrant" 3758-1460-101(3154KOs)

Then random days of having fun and training, I created:

Tyrants Voice 0 2 0 0 - talking to fighters as I train them (opened OB in a separate window under this alias)

Tyrants_Challenge 6 3 0 4 - was trying to create fight challenges where you may box with only your jab vs your opponent's right hand. Or you can only use defense and see how long you survive, etc. Was trying to spice things up a bit.

Tyrant_in_Training 3 1 0 1 - after some time off, I was training for a bit, but then just decided to go back to my main name after a few fights.

Tyrant_NewVersion 2 2 0 1 - another so called comeback before sticking with my main "Tyrant" name after a few fights.
Tyrant_Trainer 0 0 0 0 - training name for others
Tyrant_Trainer 0 0 0 0 - for training others
Tyrant_Training 7 3 0 7 - when I wanted to train specific part of my game for a short time
Tyrant _PPV Promoter 0 0 0 0 - created this before we came up with FREE PER VIEW
Tyrant(FPV Promoter) 0 0 0 0 - tried to help hype and promote a Free Per View show. Didn't work out.
Tyrant's Bodygaurd 0 0 0 0 - probably was a late night and had the giggles. Maybe ducking.
spy 0 0 0 0 - whenever I just felt like coming on to watch a fight and not be bothered
Max Kellerman 15 45 1 12 - when I mocked/made fun of Max Kellerman with his quotes as heard on TV. I never took any fight seriously and would sometimes just dance while my opponent looked confused. Late night.
Jermain Taylor 45 2 1 41 - built up quite a nice record before being exposed by Yellow (a.k.a Labratory)

My only major alt where I (on purpose) hid who I was for a period of time while ducking the best was when I was Jermain Taylor several years back. Labratory came on as Yellow, completely busted me up in 3 rounds. Haven't used this alias since 2003.

Otherwise, "Tyrant" 3758-1460-101(3154KOs) has been my true alias.
Congrats XTreme Skillz
Get ready to put Tyrant back on that list...
It's the one in my avatar that was the first incarnation of the game. The difference went a bit beyond graphical changes. Timing, collision detection (what distance you needed to be to land punches), movement and punch animations were a big change for us. It took some getting used to. So those that completely mastered the previous version had trouble. Then came some new punches, defense and the monster left hook.
I've long considered Larry Holmes the greatest fighter in OB history. Guys like Labratory, HTF and Fatny showed more "God given, finger talent", however Larry's been the most solid & consistent. He has been #1 or #2 in EVERY major era that mattered.

There was never an era where he wasn't atop the list battling it out with whoever was the best at that time. Not just giving them a fight, but winning and at times dominating each era.

I totally agree.

BTW, do you still play? If so, who are you?

Hah, I haven't played in a while. I signed in a few weeks ago, but quickly left. I'll start playing again very soon. Simply missing OB and the competition with you guys

No alts for me.

Hmm, never noticed this before..does that mean that the OBW title is not a major title ?

It's possible I began this before OBW was introduced?
