In order for a game to be classed as ‘bingo’ it must meet the Act’s definition of ‘equal chance gaming’ (as opposed to casino gaming). This definition is set out in section 8 (opens in new tab). As well as traditional bingo games, we also offer special themed bingo rooms. These include titles like Deal or No Deal, Fluffy Favourites Bingo and Clover Rollover Bingo. Our themed bingo games come with unique visuals and special features, such as bonus rounds or community jackpots. Playtech – sites such as Paddy Power Bingo and Sun Bingo have a version available based on the look and feel of the UK show as it was hosted by Noel Edmonds. Entain brands such as Foxy Bingo and Coral Bingo have a bingo game design based on the US version of the show, but the premise is the same. Bingo is a traditional form of gambling that has changed and improved rapidly in recent years. It is also the only form of gambling recognised in the Gambling Act 2005 (the Act) (opens in new tab) that does not have a specific statutory definition. The definition of bingo in the Act states that ‘bingo’ means ‘any version of that game, irrespective of by what name it is described’. |
